of mice and men final exam (beyond the line)

the story is about George, and Lennie, the first death in the novel is a mouse that Lennie carries in his pocket to pet. then the two men have reached the ranch that they plan on working on, a bunch of puppies are killed because their mother is unable to feed them. With the promise of a new dog Candy, a worker with only one hand, allows Carlson to shoot is old dog. Lennie is also given a puppy that he accidentally kills while petting it in the barn yard Then Lennie kills Curly’s wife, by breaking her neck cause he wanted to pet her. The final and most significant death is Lennie, who is shot in the back of the head, by his best friend, George.

After taking a serious look at all of the deaths in Of Mice and Men, it is conclusive that there is a large correlation between several of the deaths played out. The first comparison is obvious, the mouse and Lennie’s puppy. The two were both killed by Lennie, and both used to satisfy Lennie’s obsession with soft things. The death of the four puppies and Curly’s wife also seem to fit together. The puppies were killed because the dog was unable to feed them. just as it was necessary that Curly’s wife dies because she caused nothing but trouble amongst the workers. The final set of deaths is that of Candy’s old dog and Lennie. Candy’s old dog had become useless. it was dying a terrible slow death Once Lennie killed Curly’s wife it became apparent that if Lennie was not killed or “put to sleep” he would indefinitely suffer. The death of the dog early on shows Lennie’s death.

Although Steinbeck uses death as a motif, and hints at things, the deaths at the end of the book almost come out of the blue. The reader can be left shocked or at the very least bewildered. When Lennie and Curly’s wife begin to have the discussion that ultimately costs her, her life, it becomes easy to pick up on what is going to be played out. Also, when Steinbeck shows Lennie’s death he leaves the reader with a feeling of understanding that with out the dog’s death, lennie wouldn't die.

Death is a very powerful thing, that should not be taking little but instead, ought to be used to create an impact. John Steinbeck has truly mastered the impact of deaths in a novel. The reader is left with out feelings of grief, but instead totally satisfied with the outcome of the book

Question: Why does Curly pick on Lennie

Answer:
Curly picks on Lennie because Lennie is what curly work so hard to be. not mentally but physically .
Lennie is a big man and is so strong and have the oudasity to be retarded its like he
is big for nothing like is teasing curly in a way. Curly would kill a man to be half Lennie's size.
Its not necessarily Lennie that curly is mad it its really him self and how small he is and none of
the other big men will take his mess like slim so he picks on Lennie cause his retarded and he thinks Lennie

Question:
why do you think the novels theme of the American dream is protryaed so badly?

Answer:
they reason i think it is shown so badly in the novel is because its giving the reader a wake up call and showing
that everybody not
going to get that white picked fence and 3 1/2 children with the prefect wife or husband and job.
Its showing the reality and how that's not always who it goes but not that it will.never
happen. like in the story slim is living his American dream and have everything he wants but George and
Lennie is not that lucky and they never get anything they want.

Tevora's reflection of national history day

For N.H.D i did a exhibit on Walter Disney and the world of entertainment .
I worked with Ishmael Johnson, Shani Hayes. We tried to focus on how he started the his
career and what he left behind as his legacy.

First we read article's and book on him and learned allot. Some things that i learned is that
when he was 16 he lied about his age to join the red cross for the world war 1 .
He also never finished high school . His first creation was "Oswald the lucky rabbit"
he lost him to Charles Wintz who contracted with universal for distribution.
But in 2006 Disney company's got the rights to Oswald back in a trade with NBC universal .

Some of the challenges we went through was the marquee because we messed it up the first time
and we had to do it over again. We couldn't get found a lot of the information that we wanted.
Like more about his parent's , his brother's and sister's and his wife. And we felt like we was running out
of time and we stayed after school a whole lot and we still didn't get a whole bunch done.

Some things I liked about doing the project is all the cool and interesting things we learned about him
and what he did. It was exctiting to learn new things about a person I always heard about but never really
learned about . He is such a wonderful person that had so many good idea's and I really believe he is a person
that put a big impact in history and is loved till this day.

Interesting facts about Walter Disney

A Gift of Love Turned to Tragedy
According to www.tv.com, brothers Walt and Roy Disney, in 1922, began what is now known as the "Walt Disney Company." After they found success, they bought their parents, Elias and Flora Disney, a new house in Los Angeles. Unbeknownst to them, the house had a faulty heating system. Sadly, Mrs. Disney died from carbon monoxide poisoning.

Walt Disney's Favorite Meal
Another interesting fact about Walt Disney is that he often spent his lunchtimes seated at his desk. Not because he couldn't afford to go out and buy his lunch, of course. According to About.com, Disney's choice meal was chili

"Disney" is actually a changed version of Walt's family's original name. The original name was D'Isigny. It was around the year 1044. Originally from France, Isigny-Sur-Mer was the area that Walt's relatives came from. Can you imagine planning a trip to D'Isignyland?
